AboutYour
Photographer
I've always been a creative soul.
As a kid, I jumped from one “hobby of the month” to the next—constantly exploring, creating, and experimenting. Most of those hobbies came and went, but everything changed when I was twelve and stumbled upon my family’s old camera tucked away in a forgotten cabinet.
It started with simple photos of our family farm and fields, and helping my mom photograph pieces for her antique and furniture import business. I was hooked. Before long, I was bringing my camera everywhere—doing fun little shoots with friends and track teammates, constantly looking for moments to capture.
Joining my school yearbook team gave me a deeper understanding of composition, editing, and storytelling. As I honed my craft, people began to take notice. Friends started asking me for senior portraits, and I eventually began second-shooting weddings. What started as a hobby was slowly becoming something more.
Although I loved photography deeply, I wasn’t sure it could be a full-time career. I followed in my older sister’s footsteps and enrolled at Virginia Tech. While working toward a degree in nutrition, I continued to shoot portraits for fun—graduation sessions, engagements, and weddings began to fill up my free time. Halfway through my studies, I realized my dream was no longer a side hustle. It was the dream. I switched into Public Health to allow more time to grow my photography business, and I’m so glad I did.
Over the course of my time at Virginia Tech, I had the privilege of working with over 300 clients. Through that experience, I learned so much—not just about photography, but about people, connection, and confidence.
Growing up, I felt awkward and insecure. And being in a multicultural household, I often felt out of place. Photography became a way to connect, to make others feel seen—and in turn, helped me feel more seen, too. That’s still my number one goal with every session: to make you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful in your own skin.
Over the past decade, my vision has evolved alongside me. As my confidence grew, so did my love for styling, fashion, and editorial photography. One of my biggest dreams now is to shoot for magazines and blend my passion for storytelling with fashion. My mom’s love of all things vintage also rubbed off on me—film photography and nostalgic, timeless aesthetics play a big role in my work today.
With my mom being an immigrant from the Netherlands, I’ve always had a global perspective. I grew up traveling often, and I love taking on destination shoots. Since graduating university in 2024, I’ve photographed two overseas elopements—and I can’t wait to do many more.
While I pride myself on my artistic eye and attention to detail, what matters most to me is authenticity. I believe real beauty shines when people feel comfortable, safe, and celebrated in front of the camera.
If you made it this far and any of this resonates with you, or if my style speaks to you- I hope you allow me the honor of capturing your defining moments.
